The end of medical school is celebrated by a string of events that comprise Grad Week. The work described on this page includes design of branding and promotional material, as well as the design and typesetting of the Grad Week year book. This work was completed in 2017.
Brainstorm sketches led to various themes and logos, with the Our Journey concept and stethoscope device being chosen for use.
After some experimentation, a paper cut-out theme was chosen. This theme was scrap-book reminiscent and consistent with the nostalgic and reflective mood of Grad Week.
The stethoscope "our" device was carried forward onto the event posters (see above).
A promotional video was prepared to stoke interest in the events.
This video featured the event posters to establish visual familiarity ahead of roll-out of subsequent promotional material.
The year book was a 90 page publication covering all four years of the degree. The graphical elements were crafted in Adobe Photoshop, and the document was typeset using Adobe InDesign. It was professionally printed and bound.
To improve participation in year book contributions, a custom web tool was created to allow people to upload a profile photo and baby photo to go with their year book blurb. A copy of this tool was created to collect uploads of people's favourite photos from throughout medical school.
